Subject: HANDLING OF PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS DURING SPEEDOMETER/ DIGITAL CLOCK EXCHANGES - 320i/iA When exchanging VDO speedometers or digital clocks, avoid touching either the conductors or the components with your hands. These parts may malfunction from static electricity or corrosion due to perspiration when touched. Remove and install the parts by grasping the outside edges carefully between the thumb and middle finger, holding the black protective plastic wrapping until the part is firmly in place. The protective wrapping can then be removed. When returning parts for warranty claims, wrap these parts in the black protective wrapping supplied with the new replacement part and return it in the box from which the new part was removed. Any parts received by warranty which have been improperly packed or that are received without protective wrapping, will be rejected.
